Car Park Safety

As many families are aware the Preschool are engaged in a Road Safety Project and they are focusing
on the car park and their walk to Beach Discovery (crossing The Boulevard). It has been suggested to
us to engage more families in the issues facing our carpark, which include:
• No safe pedestrian access
• Narrow car parks
• Difficult access from and into narrow street (Batman Road)
• Difficult reversing, lack of swing room
• No safe bike access
We know that we do have two or three accidents, (car to car) in a year. What we would like to start
tracking is the near misses. The near miss, might be a child walking behind a reversing car, children
being unattended in the car park, children playing in front of a car or in the garden, or any incident
of car to car near miss.
We would appreciate families simply informing us below of any carpark incidents or near misses.
We are going to commence keeping a written logbook in order to support any
further requests we have for changes to the car park due to safety concerns
